Over the weekend...
Saturday night at Bottletree was a great show. Dead Fingers, James Husband, and Azure Ray all played amazing sets. Here's a photo of James Husband playing Jason's guitar.

Practice last night was a lot of fun. We all tried out something new.
Brad and Jason set up the new Twinside kit! Here's Brad before.
Here's Brad after. Look at those two busted heads on the left. They had been on that kit since the 80's and didn't stand a chance after a beating from Brad.
Jason played his new Strat too which sounded awesome!
James working on his new bass lines.
And I added a new pedal to my line up....the Metal Zone. I love it.

Rogue Wave Show.
We had a great show Friday night at Workplay and I really enjoyed Rogue Wave's set. Thanks to everyone that came out! I think that will be our last show of this year so we can work on new material and get a little recording done. We started setting up our temporary studio yesterday.
Rogue Wave's "press here for explosion" button that was so tempting to step on. It was tied to their led light show.
I loved their pink skull fabric that was on the face of all of their amps too.

The Weekend
This weekend was a good one. It started with an acoustic set by Mark Carmichael (of Sunny So Brite above) and Janet Simpson-Templin (of Delicate Cutters & Teen Getaway below) in the courtyard of Crestwood Coffee.
The rest of the weekend included beautiful weather, friends, college football, walking the dogs in the park, and practicing for the Rogue Wave show this coming Friday.

Weekend Fun
Friday night Jason and I hit the Greek Food Festival downtown for some Greek Chicken, Souvlakia, Loukoumathes, and Greek coffee. There was also a purchase of a Greek fisherman hat somewhere in there too. Then, we hit Bottletree for Through the Sparks and an added bonus of a few members of FisherGreen on the last few songs.
Saturday we watched some amazing Alabama football and that night had a show at The Nick with Sunny So Brite where we opened for Paperdolls, GrandEvolution, and Imaginary Planes. It was a fun, local music filled weekend.

BAAM Fest Weekend.
(gum creek killers)
It was a great weekend for great local music. The BAAM fest was a huge success from what I could tell. All of the venues were packed, the bands were fantastic, and the mood was exciting. We started the weekend off by seeing Duquette, Janet, Brad, Chip, David, and Van play a short set as the "Gum Creek Killers" Friday at Bottletree at 8:30.
(teen getaway)
After a snack at Makario's we headed over to Metro Bistro to see Teen Getaway rock at 11:00. These guys are so fantastic.

Last night was a great night at Workplay. Duquette Johnston and the Rebel Kings played at 7:15 and had a fantastic set. Jason and I played with Sunny So Brite which followed at 8:30. The crowd was amazing and was a great way to end BAAM fest. We hit the Waffle House afterwards for some good grub before going home to watch True Blood.
Thanks BAAM Fest for a fun weekend!

The Nick Show
is it bad that i'm still recovering from thursday night's show at the nick? imaginary planes opened the show with a great set and eux autres were awesome! i have to say that this was probably the funnest show we've played so far. there's something about the nick that makes you want to play really loud dirty rock. mission accomplished. i think jason playing the les paul made it even louder and dirtier.

A day in Athens
Jax wondering how long before she can open that stack of records from Wuxtry
James perplexed over the decision of having tater tots, fries, or onion rings at Clocked
We had a great time yesterday in Athens. We rolled into little kings at 1pm and proceeded to have a great time listening to bands and rockin' faces off. We met some wonderful people and bands, ate a REALLY good burger at Clocked and took our time meandering back to Alabama via a plate of Swedish meatballs! Kind of moving slow today but looking forward to another night of music with Eux Autres and Imaginary Planes!
Thanks to Mike in Athens who helped us out and helped make a great festival
